Midwest Flooding, Jan 2016

04 Jan 2016

Heavy rain in Missouri and Illinois the week of December 27th, 2015 caused devastating flooding from the Mississippi River and smaller waterways. Twenty-four flood related deaths have been reported. Many communities experienced flooding, but worst hit were in the St. Louis area. The waters have begun receding in most places, except for the southern most areas of the states, and clean up has started. A surge of water is expected to cause flooding in areas to the south this week, although not as severely as was in Missouri and Illinois.
