Flash flooding in Maryland, May 2018

Flash flood waters tore through the historic downtown area of Ellicott, Maryland on Sunday, May 27, 2018. Eight inches of rain that fell in a six-hour period, but most within 3 hours, damaged streets, flooded buildings and washed away cars. One person was killed. A previous destructive flash flood occurred in the same area in 2016 as well.
