ImageCat wins 2nd Prize in Geospatial Applications Contest
Long Beach, CA - August, 2006. ImageCat’s entry “Collecting Data for a Multi-Hazard Situation” has been awarded 2nd place in the 2006 Geospatial Solutions contest to find the most innovative and creative application of geospatial technologies. ImageCat’s entry documented Post-disaster Damage Verification (PDV) methods for multiple hazards (windstorm, storm surge, flooding, and levee breach) after hurricane Katrina using remote sensing technologies, reconnaissance and visualization system. ImageCat, Inc. used its portable VIEWS reconnaissance and visualization system during this project. The system integrates GPS-registered digital video footage, digital photographs, and observations with satellite imagery collected before and after a disaster.
This is the third year in a row that ImageCat has been awarded a top prize in the Geospatial Applications Contest.
