March 2007 - ImageCat wins award for Seismic Risk Assessment Study of the Greater Vancouver Sewerage and Drainage District
Long Beach, CA, March 2007. As a member of the Sandwell Engineering Team, ImageCat has won an award for seismic risk analysis of the Greater Vancouver Sewerage and Drainage District (GVS&DD) system in the Soft Engineering Category. The overall purpose of the project was to conduct an overview seismic risk assessment of the GVS&DD system, making recommendations on mitigating these risks, and identifying where more in-depth investigations and activities should take place. ImageCat’s role in this project was to estimate the probability of damage or failure to all underground pipeline systems, and to calculate the projected number of repairs in a large earthquake scenario centered just south of downtown Vancouver. In addition, ImageCat provided GIS services in the production of numerous maps depicting damage throughout the study region. Other members of the team included Golder Associates and G&E Engineering.
