ImageCat appoints Shubharoop Ghosh as Vice President of Data Services
Shubharoop Ghosh has been appointed to Vice President of Data Services at ImageCat, Inc. In this new position, he will lead ImageCat's data development team producing building inventory data and exposure models for the re/insurance industry.
Mr Ghosh will be responsible for managing ImageCat's portfolio of data products and services, including US and international inventory databases, 3D-City models, e-City Risk, PDQ, and an extensive library of remote sensing and field-based natural hazard damage data.
"Data products and services are key elements of ImageCat's commercial lines of business and I am delighted to be leading this area of operation. In my new role, I will apply our existing suite of ImageCat data products to our core business areas, as well as develop services that are unique and timely for the global market place" says Mr. Ghosh.

"Shubharoop has extensive experience in effectively managing complex data development studies, as well as in creating new processes to efficiently deliver data into the operational work flow of our broad client base."
Mr. Ghosh joined ImageCat in December 2001 as an expert in Urban Planning and GIS. Over the past several years, Mr. Ghosh has led high-profile projects developing, analyzing and managing data for the re/insurance, government and real estate sectors. He was also instrumental in the creation of data standards for the standardized loss estimation software HAZUS as used by the California Governor's Office of Emergency Management. He has participated in numerous post-disaster deployments worldwide, including hurricanes Katrina and Rita, the Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami, and more recently, the 2007 Southern California fires.
Mr. Ghosh has a Masters degree in Urban Planning from the University of Southern California's (USC) School of Policy, Planning and Development (SPPD). Prior to joining ImageCat, he worked for the Southern California Earthquake Center (SCEC).
