ImageCat awarded two contracts from the American Lifelines Alliance to develop Guidelines for Assessing the Performance of Electric Power and Oil and Natural Gas Pipeline Systems from Natural and Manmade Hazards Long Beach, CA - March 2003. Over the last several years, the American Lifelines Alliance with funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency has been developing guidelines to assess the performance of lifelines from different threats. In a competitive proposal process, the ALA awarded two separate contracts to ImageCat to develop guidelines for assessing the performance of electric power and oil and natural gas pipeline systems from natural hazards and human threats. These guidelines will help utility owners determine whether a performance assessment is needed, how detailed or comprehensive the analysis must be, and when enough has been done to assess system performance. ImageCat is heading this effort with support from a number of consulting organizations and individuals. ![]()
