ImageCat part of a Multi-Institutional Team to Study the Cost-Effectiveness of FEMA’s Hazard Mitigation Programs

Long Beach, CA - April 2003.   After an extended competitive process, the Applied Technology Council was awarded an 18-month contract to perform an independent study to assess the future savings from FEMA-sponsored hazard mitigation programs. The programs that will be studied include FEMA’s Hazard Mitigation Grant Program, grants awarded under the National Flood Insurance Program, and grants from Project Impact and DMA 2000. ImageCat will be providing project management support (Eguchi is Project Director) and GIS services for a 19-member multi-institutional team of experts. The results of this study will be used in preparing a report to Congress that will state the cost-effectiveness of these programs.
