Flash Flooding, southern and eastern Spain, Oct 2024

Heavy rainfall in the southern and eastern regions of Spain caused deadly flash flooding on Tuesday, October 29th, 2024. In one day, rainfall equivalent to a normal year’s worth fell, flooding towns and catching residents off guard. At least 155 people were killed, and infrastructure was badly damage, leaving thousands without power or running water and many roads unpassable. Valencia was the most impacted region.
