Ron Eguchi attended the inaugural meeting of the National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS) Lifeline Infrastructure Hub

ImageCat’s President and CEO, Ron Eguchi, attended the inaugural meeting of the National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS) Lifeline Infrastructure Hub. The meeting was held on May 21st, 2024, in Washington D.C. Attendees from more than 25 private organizations and federal agencies, including the White House, Congress, federal agencies, lifeline operators, the engineering community, business owners, insurers, and academia gathered at the National Press Club to collaboratively consider the resilience of lifelines infrastructure in the U.S. The meeting officially launched the Lifeline Infrastructure Hub, a collaborative platform for industry experts, stakeholders, and policymakers across essential lifeline sectors: Communications, Electricity, Water and Wastewater, Liquid Fuel & Natural Gas, and Multimodal Transportation. A highlight of the meeting was the formation of the Lifeline Advisory Panel. The panel, which comprises twenty-three national leaders, will lead and support the Hub’s efforts under the direction of founding chair Ronald Eguchi and vice chair Sissy Nikolaou.
NIBS is an independent non-profit NGO that has worked to improve the built environment in the U.S. for 50 years. NIBS is poised to take a leading role in the urgent effort to strengthen resiliency of the built environment in the face of a changing climate.
