Wildfires in Southern California, September 2024

Three major wildfires have burned more than 100,000 acres in Southern California this month. The fast-growing Bridge fire has burned almost 55,000 acres in the Angeles National Forest since starting on September 8. The fire is 71% contained. More than 80 structures have been destroyed.

The Line fire in San Bernardino County has burned over 39,000 acres since it began on September 5th in the city of Highland.  CAL FIRE reports that the blaze is 67% contained.

The Airport Fire began on September 9 in an unincorporated area of Orange County and then spread into neighboring Riverside County. It has burned over 23,000 acres and destroyed 160 structures. The blaze is 81% contained.
