16 Sep 2014
Days of heavy rainfall has caused flooding in parts of the Balkans. The government in Serbia has declared a state of emergency in three eastern municipalities along the River Danube – Kladovo, Negotin and Majdanpek, with approximately 400 people evacuated from the Kladovo area. Parts of neighboring Croatia, Slovenia, and Bosnia experienced flooding as well. Hundreds of homes were inundated with water in the western and northern regions of Bosnia and approximately two-thirds of the counties in Croatia were struggling with flooding.
