Cyclone Hudhud

Cyclone Hudhud made landfall on the eastern coast of India on Sunday, October 12, 2014, causing widespread damage and 24 deaths. The storm came ashore near the port city of Visakhapatna, damaging buildings and roads as well as knocking out electrical and water services.  The coastal states of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha received the brunt of the storm, with reports of thousands of houses and thatched huts damaged or destroyed. Infrastructure and agriculture throughout the region were also heavily damaged.
