Flooding, Mudslides in Western Europe, November 2014

18 Nov 2014

Flash flooding and landslides have devastated parts of Western Europe during the autumn months of 2014. Torrential rainfall caused deadly mudslides in the border region of Italy and Switzerland on Saturday, November 15. This followed weeks of heavy rain that created flash flooding in northern Italy, including the regions of Tuscany, Liguria and Venice. Southern France has experienced flash flooding as well, including a historic downpour on September 29th that damaged 60 towns and villages and the city of Montpelier, which flooded again on October 6.
