Typhoon Maysak, March-April 2015

Typhoon Maysak made landfall on the Federated States of Micronesia’s Chuuk State on Sunday, March 29th, 2015, causing five deaths and extensive damage to buildings and crops. The storm moved in a northwesterly direction over the archipelago island chain, eventually strengthening to a Category 5- super typhoon status. The storm weakened considerably in the following days and was downgraded to a tropical depression before making landfall in the Philippines on April 5.  There was no major damage to the country.
