Texas Flooding, April 2016

Upwards of 17 inches of rain fell in Harris County, Texas in 24 hours, between April 17 and 18th, 2016, creating historic flooding. The Harris County Flood Control District reported 13 bayous and creeks out of their banks, several of them in Houston. The city was crippled by the water and power-outages. Officials report that at least 1,000 homes were flooded in the county. Eight people died as a result of the storm.
