Typhoon Hato, China, August 2017

Typhoon Hato brought massive winds and flooding to Hong Kong and Macau in China. The storm made landfall on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 as a category 10 storm, which roughly equals a category 3 on the Saffir-Simpson hurricane scale used in the Western Hemisphere. At least 16 people were killed in the region.
