M7.3 Earthquake near Iran/Iraq border, November 2017

A M7.3 earthquake struck near the Iran/Iraq border on Sunday, November 12, 2017. The earthquake’s epicenter was about 19 miles outside of Halabja, Iraq. The region is mountainous and rural. Over 400 people combined from both countries have been declared dead and thousands are injured. Tens of thousands are in need of safe shelter.
