Typhoon Damrey, November 2017

Typhoon Damrey made landfall along the south-central coast of Vietnam the morning of November 4, 2017 with the strength equivalent to a Category 2 hurricane. At least 61 people perished in the storm, The Vietnam Disaster Management Agency reported that over 100,000 homes were damaged or destroyed. Widespread flooding is reported and dams are straining under the flood water. The storm is dissipated, but more heavy rains are forecast for the region in the coming days.
