Flooding in Indian State, Kerala, August 2018

The state of Kerala, located in southern India, is experiencing historic flooding due to an unusually heavy monsoon season. The rains have damaged infrastructure, caused landslides, left hundreds of thousands of people displaced and killed at least 324 people. Dozens of dams in the state are at capacity and some dam and reservoir gates are being opened.
