Charles K. Huyck presented “EO-based exposure data technologies” at the World Bank headquarters in Washington D.C.

On October 16, 2018, Charles K. Huyck presented “EO-based exposure data technologies” at the World Bank headquarters in Washington D.C. This was part of the METEOR team’s needs assessment and follow-up outreach activities as a part of work package 8, sustainability and capacity building tasks. The meeting was convened by Keiko Sakoda, Disaster Risk Management Specialist at the Bank and was publicized within the Bank to employees involved in global disaster risk management activities. Questions centered around applicability, replacement cost development, and supporting technologies for building extraction from earth observation data. The presentation was positively received and included Nick Jones, who is part of the building exposure group at GFDRR/ World Bank.
