Storm Dennis, a strong extratropical cyclone, brought heavy rain and gale force winds to Great Britain and parts of Europe this weekend, February 16-17, 2020. Some parts of the UK received a month’s worth of rain in two days. The region had been hit by another severe storm one week ago and waterways were already full. Rainfall from Dennis caused flooding in South Wales, Worcestershire and Herefordshire and there were a record number of flood warnings and alerts issued by Environment Agency. Flooding and power outages were also reported in other areas of northern Europe. Winds of up to 90 mph were recorded as well. Six storm related deaths were reported.

According to the Environment Agency, more disruptive weather is on its way this week.
