Severe storms, southern U.S., April, 2020

A deadly outbreak of storms tore through the southern U.S. on April 12 and 13th, 2020. At least 35 people were killed by the storms and thousands were left without power. More than 60 tornadoes touched down in Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee and Georgia, the strongest of which was an EF-4 in southeastern Mississippi. Hundreds of buildings are damaged or destroyed in the region. Flooding and mudslides in mountainous areas were reported as well.
