Torrential rainfall is causing severe flooding in parts of Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg. While at least 46 people have been reported killed by the flood waters, the extent of damage is still unknown, as some villages are completely cut off by floods and landslides.

The rainfall is expected to begin easing at the end of the week, but some rivers in the region are still rising.
