14 Sep 2022

ImageCat team members, together with visiting Professor Toprak of Gebze Technical University, participated in an excursion to the Metropolitan Water District (MWD) Casa Loma Siphon project. The MWD was on hand to explain their efforts to building a water system that is resilient to earthquakes and droughts. The MWD retrofitting project involves the installation of a 104-inch diameter earthquake-resistant ductile iron pipe on the Colorado River Aqueduct at the Casa Loma earthquake fault line. The ImageCat team also visited Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) Tujunga Well and North Hollywood West projects and learned about LADWP’s plan to contain and remediate groundwater in the San Fernando Basin.
