Tornados in Mississippi and Alabama, March 2023

Powerful thunderstorms spawned  at least 20 tornados in Mississippi and Alabama on Friday, March 25, 2023.  Western and central Mississippi was most impacted. A tornado, estimated to be an EF4, tore a path of destruction over 60 miles long, destroying part of the town of Rolling Rock. Another tornado, an EF3, touched down around the town of Black Hawk and tore a 29 mile path. Twenty-six people were killed in total. Multiple communities are devastated. A State of Emergency has been declared.
