Flooding in Beijing, August 2023

Beijing and neighboring parts of northern China were hit by severe flooding as the remnants of Typhoon Doksuri brought record levels of rainfall. The rain began on Saturday, July 29^th soaked the area for 4 days, overflowing rivers, flooding streets, and damaging buildings and infrastructure. Close to a million people have been evacuated and at least 21 were killed in the region.
