ImageCat’s Shubharoop Ghosh and Marina Tamara Mendoza were interviewed by Disasters Avoided, a group dedicated to building a collection of work including articles, papers, and interviews that explore actions being taken and what is required to avoid future disasters. The interview was conducted by Gareth Byatt, Principal Consultant at Risk Insight Consulting, and Ana Prados, Senior Scientist and Researcher at the University of Maryland, Baltimore Count (UMBC). Shubharoop and Marina discussed ImageCat’s initiatives and work towards disaster risk reduction, including those that support NASA Earth Applied Sciences such as the Global Economic Disruption Index (GEDI), FireCapture, and the Community Wildfire Vulnerability Index for Risk Assessment and Response Planning.
